Off work today and tomorrow (using my vacation and sick time instead of losing it).
Objective Number One: Turn the 6 into “dad car.” Accomplished.
Having the install checked by the local police department right now.

Has the baby arrived yet or are you just in prep mode?

Just in prep mode. We have 4-6 weeks to go. She’s at 34 weeks right now.

So anywhere from 0 to 8 weeks and you will have a little mazda in the backseat.

Correct! And according to every other dad in the world, my car will be a disgusting mess from here on out. Oh well.

Not necessarily true. The only car of ours that gets thoroughly thrashed is the wife’s van and only b/c road trips.

That’s my plan. Wifey’s CX-5 can be the gross-mobile and dad’s car will be the one used to teach little man the importance and fun of car detailing. Haha. My mom had a brand new car when I was a baby and throughout my childhood, I only remember doing two things to it. Once, I squished a skittle into the backseat upholstery. And another time, I ran my tricycle into it and scraped he pair off the rear bumper corner. I got in big trouble for both occurrences.

After you do a few car seats you’ll find it’s incredibly easy. I haven’t gone to a fire station for some time.
